My Go-To Freezer Meal

I love making freezer meals and having them on hand. They make choosing meals later on a breeze since they are already put together. I also find them great to be able to bring to a friend after they’ve had a baby. I’m going to tell you how to make my favorite freezer meal, Hawaiian meatballs, because it is delicious and so easy!

What you’ll need:

2lbs frozen meatballs

1 onion (cut in chunks or slices)

2 bell peppers cut in chunks (whichever colors you want)

1 20oz can pineapple chunks

24oz BBQ Sauce (I sometimes use more depending on how well it covers everything in my bag.)

1 gallon freezer bag

1 sandwich size bag

Now all you have to do is dump everything into your gallon size bag! I start by putting in my frozen meatballs.

Next I add in the onions, bell peppers and pineapple chunks.

Finally I dump the bbq sauce over the top. Close up the bag and mush it all together to cover everything in the bbq. Then it’s ready to put in the freezer.

It doesn’t look very pretty but it tastes delicious when it’s cooked and ready to eat!

When you’re ready to make it or give to a friend you’ll want to make sure to have some rice on hand. If you’re giving to a friend you can measure out some rice into a sandwich size bag and give them instructions from your rice bag on how to make it. To make the meatballs you let it thaw overnight and then dump into your crockpot. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours. Then all that is left to do is serve over rice that you cooked up and enjoy!

My favorite bbq sauce to use for most everything is Sweet Baby Ray’s. And my favorite rice is Jasmine rice. Do you have a favorite bbq sauce or rice that you use?
