The Past Few Months in Photos

By: Kristen Darkow

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared any photos of life lately, so today I’m sharing a whole bunch of photos from the last few months! Warning: it involves a LOT of dog photos. 🙂 Enjoy!

These two are the best of friends and make for a pretty handsome duo. 🙂

I took this in October after one of the first snowfalls of the year – Storm was all excited to be heading to the dog park!

On another trip to the dog park, we ran into 12+ golden retrievers. Andrew and I are obsessed with golden retrievers, and we’re usually lucky if we run into one at the dog park. On this day, I think every golden retriever in town was at the park at the same time!

My grandpa turned 91 in November, so I took a trip home to celebrate him with my family!

Also in November, my sister-in-law and niece and nephew came to stay with us for a night. Storm was OBSESSED with Dane – he was just 2 months old at this point. Storm wouldn’t leave his side and it was adorable.

My dad and brother also came to visit in November. They had tickets to a Badgers football game, so we tailgated with them beforehand.

We went home to my parents’ house for Thanksgiving. We wanted to take some family photos for our Christmas card, so we headed out to our land with Storm and had my dad snap a couple pictures on my iPhone – I think they turned out great for being free and only taking 5 minutes!

We also made some lefse over Thanksgiving with my family. Storm was really curious about what we were making, so we had to contain him to the living room so he didn’t burn his little nose on the griddle. 🙂

While home for Thanksgiving, we took Storm and Harvey for a walk in the snow. Storm is made for the snow. Harvey, however, is not. His poor little paws and belly got all clumped up with snowballs.

Storm has his ways of asking for food. 🙂

This is my new favorite photo of Harvey.

In early December, we celebrated Ella’s 4th birthday at her Vampirina party! She wasn’t happy about me taking her photo. 🙂

This photo is just documenting how Andrew and I have spent most of our Friday nights since winter hit – a bottle of wine and a movie by Christmas tree light!

We hosted my family for Christmas – I got lots of Dane snuggles in. 🙂

Once again, this duo is just so handsome, right?

I made Christmas margaritas when we hosted my family’s Christmas! It was just cranberry/pomegranate juice, a splash of lime juice, tequila and triple sec, topped with frozen cranberries. They were delicious!

Just another adorable photo of Harvey.

And of course another adorable photo of Storm and his Christmas bow tie.

Andrew and I enjoy visiting puppies even if we (he) have no intention of getting one anytime soon. We found some baby goldens and some baby huskies (on two different days) so we took photos and tricked our families into believing we adopted 2 new dogs each time. 🙂

Both Harvey and Storm got matching bow ties for Christmas presents, so we had to take a photo of these two cute boys in their matching ties.

Both Andrew and I really like the Kansas City Chiefs (second to the Packers, of course). He had given me a Chiefs shirt for my birthday, so I gave him one for Christmas. Now we’re all set to cheer them on in the Super Bowl (since the Packers won’t be playing them…wahhhh). Andrew would like everyone to know how weird it felt for him to put this shirt on – even though he does like the Chiefs, it felt like he was cheating on the Packers. Rest assured, he’s still a Packers guy through and through.

Finally, this past weekend we went up to the Twin Cities for my cousin’s wedding. There was a blizzard on Friday, so we left on Thursday night and worked from home on Friday. I had this cute face staring at me as I worked. 🙂

Andrew joined Maddie and me for a game of Pretty Pretty Princess…what a great uncle he is. 🙂

Wedding ready!

That’s all the photos I’ve taken recently! Life has been busy but so so great!
