Our Memorial Day Weekend

By: Kristen Finstad

Happy TUESDAY! Isn’t it a great feeling starting the week and it’s already Tuesday? I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Andrew and I sure did – it was busy and full of lots of fun stuff, but it was the perfect way to spend our last weekend together before we’re married! So today, I’m recapping our Memorial Day weekend in pictures.

I’m not great at remembering to take pictures of all the fun things we do, but I did my best. 🙂 On Friday night, the weather was beautiful so Andrew and I went to a restaurant nearby called “Banzo” and ate on the patio and enjoyed a beer and a sangria. Banzo has a variety of combinations, like falafel and chicken, or falafel and beef, and you can have it on a pita sandwich, a salad, etc. We both really enjoyed it!

On Saturday morning, my company hosted an event for our clients at the movie theater. We all got to see the new Aladdin movie! It was so much fun to meet some clients and see the live action version of a childhood favorite movie. Highly recommend it. 🙂

After seeing Aladdin, Andrew and I ran errands around town. We started at Men’s Wearhouse, because Andrew had a $400 shopping spree to redeem since he ordered tuxes for his groomsmen there. Then we went to the mall, and then I took Andrew to Trader Joe’s for the first time! I think he was pretty impressed. 🙂 We got home and took Storm to the dog park to enjoy the perfect weather.

On Sunday, after church, we went up to Green Lake, WI to golf at Lawsonia Golf Course. It was a perfect day and such a pretty course, and I even had my best round to date!

We took Storm for a walk when we got home, and then sat out on the deck and did some honeymoon planning (don’t worry – there will be an entire post about our adventures in Spain!).

On Monday, Andrew’s whole family came to visit! We did a little shopping and then went out to dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant, Cafe La Belitalia. It is phenomenal.

I got the fettuccine alfredo – clearly it was so good that I forgot to take a picture until it was almost gone!

I got to sit by this cutie. 🙂

And that was our weekend! Now, we have a very short work week and leave on Wednesday for our wedding on Saturday! I can’t believe how fast it’s come, but here we are! I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend and has a great 4-day week!
