My Azazie Experience and Why I Loved It!

By: Amanda Magnus

With wedding season just around the corner that means Andrew and Kristen’s wedding is going to be here before we know it! I’m so excited for both of them. There’s nothing better than knowing your brother has found someone amazing to spend the rest of his life with! And, I gain another sister. 🙂 So, of course I am equally excited and honored to be a part of their big day as a bridesmaid.

People used to joke with me that I was like the girl in the movie 27 Dresses because I have been a bridesmaid a lot of times! I love weddings though and getting dressed up in pretty dresses is always fun too! Over the years weddings have definitely changed as far as styles of dresses, color schemes and overall traditions. Usually as a bridesmaid you don’t get to pick out what dress you will wear. However, that is one thing that seems to be changing with weddings. There are a few companies that offer the option to try on dresses at home and then select which one you want. Kristen opted for this option and even let each bridesmaid pick her own style of dress! I think this is great because this way everyone has a dress they feel comfortable in and love!

You’re probably asking how that all works. I’m going to tell you about my experience with this process! The company we went through was Azazie. They have hundreds of dresses to choose from so there is something for everyone! I started by filtering my choices by color and length of dress Kristen wanted. Then I just needed to pick which ones I wanted to try on.

Once you select the dress or dresses you would like to try there is a $10 charge per dress. This basically covers the shipping to you and back to the company. Kristen was nice enough to cover the cost for each of us to try on three dresses. Once you select your dress, you pay the $10 fee and then wait for it to arrive! Once the dress comes you have 7 days to try it on and send it back. They make this super easy by providing return shipping labels.

The other great thing about Azazie is once you select your dress you can either order it in a standard size or you can put in your specific measurements and have it custom made free of charge! Yes, you read that right! They don’t charge any additional fees to custom make the dress to your specific measurements. This worked out great for me! I have always needed to get my dresses altered so I was a bit skeptical that even with putting in my measurements I would still need to get the dress altered. Well I am happy to say when my dress came it fit perfect! I won’t have to do a single thing to it. So this whole process not only had affordable bridesmaid dresses but also saved me on the cost of having a dress altered! Needless to say I am very happy with my Azazie experience and would highly recommend using them if you are planning a wedding!

You’re probably curious about what dresses I tried on. So here they are! You’ll have to forgive the not so great photos since I hadn’t planned ahead to use them in a blog post. 🙂

This first dress was similar to the style of dresses my bridesmaids wore. I thought it was flattering and loved the lace detail on the top!

The second dress I really liked the detail on the back! There was even a small crystal button at the top of the back straps that added another cute detail.

The third dress I thought was fun and flowy! It had the cold shoulder style that is in right now. I thought it was a soft romantic look!

The fourth dress had a beautiful keyhole back and I loved the lace on the top!

The fifth dress I tried on was flowy and romantic feeling again I thought. The straps were actually crystal beaded straps which really made this dress elegant looking as well!

Which dress is your favorite? Have you tried Azazie before? Want to know which one I ended up with? You’ll have to stay tuned for a follow up of the wedding sometime in June to see what I picked!
