A Few of My Favorites

By: Amanda Magnus

Since Kristen shared some of her favorite things in her blog post this week I thought I would share a few of my favorites as well! Does anyone else have a favorite meal they just love? Or a favorite beverage or dessert you never get tired of? Well I definitely have a favorite for all of those categories!

First my favorite adult beverage. This would be Leinenkiugel’s Snowdrift Vanilla Porter. I love darker beers and usually prefer stouts and porters. The only downside to this beer is it is seasonal so I have to enjoy it while I can! But it goes well with just about anything so it’s a must-have when it’s in season.

Next is my favorite meal. This was something that I just tried one night and it ended up as a favorite for Brian and I. Pesto chicken stuffed sweet potatoes is our go-to meal. First of all, it’s super easy and second, it’s just delicious! Now at first it did sound like a weird combo, but it ended up being the perfect combo! I just take cooked shredded chicken breast, stir in some Basil Pesto from Costco and put that on a baked sweet potato. We tried Sam’s Club basil pesto one time and it just wasn’t as good as the Costco brand so I would suggest getting the one from Costco if you can. Also, even if you don’t like sweet potatoes, you should give this a try. My husband didn’t think he was a fan of sweet potatoes but after this meal he changed his mind.

Finally is the dessert I never get tired of! Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake — you really can’t go wrong with cheesecake. You can find the recipe here. This cheesecake is actually what made my mother-in-law convinced I was the one for my husband. She took one bite and said, “You need to marry that girl!” And this was before she even met me so if you’re needing to make a good impression on someone’s family, just whip up this cheesecake. I can’t guarantee you’ll get the same results I did but it’s worth a try! 🙂

So there you have it! Have you tried any of these before? What are your favorite food or drinks?
