Your Guide to Online Shopping During the Holiday Season

By: Kristen Finstad

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent enjoying some delicious food and great company. 🙂 The madness of Black Friday is over, but Cyber Monday kicked off the week with amazing online deals. With websites and apps for absolutely anything you can think of these days, technology can get to be pretty overwhelming sometimes. If there’s one amazing thing that’s come from it, though, it’s online shopping. Seriously – what’s better than browsing online for all your Christmas gifts, and having them show up at your door? I’m all about avoiding those department store crowds.

The tough part, though, is knowing where to start. That’s where we come in! We’ve compiled a list of a few of our “go-to” websites for online shopping – whether you’re treating yourself or shopping for others!

  1. shop.DiscoverWisconsin.com
Okay, I’m a little biased here. I’ve spent the last two years working in PR & Marketing for Discover Wisconsin, so I may have had a hand in this one. But I genuinely think these make great gifts. Here are a few of my favorite products:   Through the end of today (11/27), you’ll receive 25% off your order using the promo code CYBER at checkout. Don’t worry if you don’t get around to your shopping today though – there are always great promotions during the holiday season on this website!
  2. Etsy.com
This one’s a classic, and for good reason. You can find just about anything you need here with a simple search! I’m going to share a few things I’ve purchased on Etsy, but feel free to chime in in the comments with specific Etsy shops you like or things you’ve ordered!

  3. TheGrommet.com
Similar to Etsy and a new find of mine (I heard about it on the Hallmark channel! Anyone else?), The Grommet has a unique gift for everyone on your list, and you can rest assured that your purchase is supporting local makers and small businesses. Here are just a few things that I think would make excellent gifts:

Fingerprint necklace and photo by Precious Metal Prints on The Grommet.
Hair Tie Bracelet and photo by bittersweet on The Grommet.
Silk Neckties and photo by Josh Bach on The Grommet.
Monogrammed leather wallet and photo by Todder on The Grommet.
Roll-up Checkers/Chess and photo by Sondergut on The Grommet.

If you can’t find something for everyone at one of these three websites, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t exist! Have you ordered something off these websites? Share with us in the comments!
