Have you ever heard of an escape room? They are popping up all over the place and are a must if you haven’t experienced one yet. Kristen and I have done three escape rooms now at Escape In Time. I am going to tell you about our experience at this specific location since we do not have experience with other escape rooms…yet!
Each time, we have booked a private session to do with my family. When you book an escape room at Escape In Time you have the option to do a private session or get put in a group with others. Either option would be a fun time!
So, after you’ve decided if you will do a private session or not, you get to pick from a variety of rooms. Each room has a theme and story that goes along with it. You can check out the different rooms they offer here. We have completed “Captain’s Cove”, “Water Landing” and “Cryosleep”. Although, I’m sad to say not all of our attempts were successful. We did fail “Captian’s Cove” but we were successful at escaping the other two.
Once you have your room picked out you set your date and time. The fun begins as soon as you arrive to Escape In Time. In order to get to the front desk you have to figure out how to get past the initial room you walk into. That is all I will say, though, because I don’t want to give away anything. Once you get to the front desk, you are greeted and await further instructions.
Each room gives you 1 hour to escape. When it’s time, you will be taken to your room and given a short story to explain your mission. Be sure to listen carefully as you may need to recall parts of the information in order to escape the room. Once in the room, get to work finding clues to help solve the puzzles and escape the room in time!
Now you may be thinking you aren’t very good at this kind of problem solving and thinking. That’s okay – we aren’t either! Thankfully they are very helpful and there is a button in the room that you can push and ask for a clue. And we have needed all 3 clues they provide every time we have attempted a new room.
Our favorite room was by far “Cryosleep” and they are in the process of adding more, so we can’t wait to go back and try out the new ones when they open! They really do everything they can to make sure everyone has fun and enjoys their experience. So really you have nothing to lose by giving it a shot!
Have you ever been to an escape room? Was your mission a success or fail? Would you do it again? Let us know about your experiences and if there’s another escape room we should be checking out!
